Bollywood Legend Raj Kapoor Gets All-Star Salute
He has been called the ultimate showman, film legend and one of India's best-known cultural personalities. But in North America, South Asia, outside of society react to mention of Raj Kapoor.
Now co-Toronto International Film Festival and the International Indian Film Academy will be changed.
Raj Kapoor, and The Golden Age of Cinema in India is set to open in Toronto Sunday as TIFF Bell Lightbox IIFAs wrap star-studded weekend to promote the film in India.
Kapoor clan, the film dynasty in India have already expressed their respect and enthusiasm they share fond memories of Bollywood as a giant retrospective of 20 films from the kick-off.
Actress Kareena Kapoor, one of the most famous Kapoor's granddaughter, told reporters in Mumbai that IIFAs this year was especially important because the agenda of his grandfather.
"It will be very, very special, very emotional," he said. "I'm more excited about it than anything else, because I think it's really been truly honored and very humbled by Kapoor."
Raj Kapoor, who died in 1988, is remembered not only as a very popular actor, but also a respected producer and director of films that have become classics in India.
"For the public, who do not know Raj Kapoor, the great thing about this post, it will give you the keys to Bollywood," said Noah Cowan, artistic director and curator of the project is a light box, which is home to the Toronto International Film Festival.
