What is Rave Party-Rave Meaning and Definition

Sunday, June 26, 2011
Rave, rave dance, and rave party are terms with first documented use on April 4, 1970[1] to describe rave dances, and later in 1988 and beyond for Acid house parties with fast-paced electronic music and light shows.[2][3] At these parties people dance to dance music played by DJs and occasionally live performers. The genres of electronic dance music played include House, Trance, Electro House, UK Hardcore, Hardstyle, Drum and bass, Breakbeat, Hardcore techno, Funktronica, Psytrance, Eurodance, Big beat, Dutch Hardcore, IDM and Jungle with the accompaniment of laser light shows, projected images and artificial fog.

Rave dance (sometimes referred to as hard dance) refers to the street dance styles that evolved alongside rave culture.
